Our adult beginner curriculum works on the foundational skills necessary in the beginning of a student’s Muay Thai, Kickboxing and Boxing journey. The techniques in beginner classes are those covered in our white, yellow and orange shorts grading curriculum. The core focus of beginner lessons are; physical conditioning, proper technique, emotion regulation and consistency. Each beginner class is different although there is repetition in classes to build muscle memory.
Our class structure is as follows. We begin class with a light warm up for mobility. Next in the technique portion of class we work basic techniques with partners, on the heavy bag, on the focus mitts as well as on the thai pads. We also work slow technical drills for our offensive and defensive skill set. We end our classes with a light cool down exercise. Sparring does not occur in these classes.
Our adult intermediate curriculum builds off of our beginner curriculum. With the strong foundation of graduating our beginner curriculum a student’s journey can now progress to the intermediate curriculum. This is not a matter of time, this is a matter of understanding and ability in the art. The techniques in intermediate classes are those covered in our blue and purple shorts grading curriculum.
Our intermediate class structure is as follows. We begin with a light warm up and instruction on the goal of class. The next stage is the technical portion where the core focus of the lessons is, physical conditioning, controlled instinctual flow of technique, mental strength and consistency. All classes are different although there is repetition in classes to build muscle memory. In the technique portion of class we work intermediate techniques with partners, on the heavy bag, on the focus mitts as well as on the thai pads. At the intermediate level we are now beginning to apply the techniques into reaction time drills to build our response tactics in a practical setting. Students will be beginning to become aware of their own body’s strengths and weaknesses. Sparring with a partner can also take place at this level if the student has the interest. These classes are great for those setting the goal to compete one day or who have already competed in a striking competition!
Mixed Level Muay Thai is for any experience level (shorts level). We work on the basic fundamentals of Muay Thai, Kickboxing and Boxing techniques as well as build our physical conditioning. These classes are very similar to the foundational techniques gained in our beginner curriculum but all student experience levels are able to take part. The structure is very similar to other adult classes in the fact that we begin with a warm up and goal, we work our content for the day and finish with a cool down exercise before we leave.
Much like anything in life, there is a process to achieve your goals. After students have a good foundation through our beginner program and have entered into our intermediate program they have the option to choose if they’d like to compete. These classes require an application to apply for our competition team. We have a standard to meet for our competition athletes and will share the process if the student is willing and open. If your goal is to compete one day… these are the classes for you!
Our Youth Striking classes are formatted very similar to our Beginner Muay Thai classes curriculum and cover lessons from white, yellow and orange shorts. During class, kids will partner up or work solo to practice various techniques/conditioning drills. We teach conditioning geared towards Muay Thai at the beginning and end of classes. Some of the kids in this program have the opportunity to compete and invited to our competition team if that is their goal. Kids will learn respect, discipline, gain confidence, self defense, teamwork skills, courage, patience, leadership skills and of course the great sport of Muay Thai. Martial arts isn’t all about fighting, it’s about building character.
Much like our adult competition class, there is a process to follow and a standard to meet. Youth can apply to be part of our competition team if that is there goal. Youth interested in competition start by becoming comfortable sparring. We then assess our students to see if they’re ready for exhibition competition. After an exhibition competition we continue to assess our students and provide opportunity for growth in steps. Our number one responsibility as fighters is to protect ourselves at all times and it is our job as coaches to ensure our fighters safety and wellbeing.
New to our programs is our teen programs. Our Teen Striking programs will build off of the foundation gained in our Youth Striking programs. Graduates of this program can enter our Adult Striking programs.

Our Special Needs Muay Thai program is for kids and adults with disabilities. Our motto in this program and “Do the best of your abilities!” Most lessons in this class are very basic and more conditioning based. This is a great class for students to truly find out what they can accomplish opposed to what they can’t. One does not truly understand their ability until they try.
Competitive members have the opportunity to put all of their training and technique to the test against their fellow training partners at Nomad Striking Academy in the form of sparring. During sparring everyone MUST wear the proper equipment which includes 16oz Gloves, approved headgear, mouth guard, Shin guards, and last but certainly not least a jock or jill. Nomad Striking Academy members that are new looking to enter competition in the future will be assessed on skill, control, health and technical level before taking part in sparring.
Pretty self-explanatory! Come in and free train. This time is a great time to partner up with a friend and work on that one technique that you just can’t seem to get!
